Edward Maupin, III was know as E 3 to campers and counselors. He grew up in Shelbyville, TN and attended the Webb School in Bell Buckle, TN until his senior year in high school. He attended and graduated from Shelbyville Central High School.

E3 worked for Rohm and Haas Company for 40 years in Knoxville, TN after graduation from the University of Tennessee. Rohm and Haas is a huge chemical firm, known mostly for Plexiglas.
